Yellowstone National Park has a very cool and dry climate. There is lots of rainfall in Yellowstone but Livingston, Montana receives 35% of the annual 5.23 inches. The air in the mountains is usually very cool and thunderstorms and showers are common there.

In Yellowstone the winds are very violent and fast. In Livingston, the winds can reach 60-80 miles per hour in the winter. Always be sure to bring a jacket and rain gear with you even in the summer. Yellowstone's biome would be classified as a Boreal Forest or Taiga.
